NCC ACTIVITIES
OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2011 - 2012
Annual Report
I feel self-important to perform the dignified
task of presenting the Annual Report of National
Cadet Corps (NCC) Troop No: 2/9, Unit: 9(TN) Sig.
Coy NCC of National Engineering College, K.R.Nagar,
Kovilpatti. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Army
Wing was raised in our college with the approval
of Directorate General of NCC Commodore U.N.Chithnavis,
New Delhi on 28th October 2005 with the sanctioned
cadet strength of 100 Cadets. It was started to
impart patriotism, discipline and adventure among
the engineering graduate students which constitutes
a valuable, vital asset of our nation and to promote
their responsibilities in nation building. Our
unit functioned successfully with full strength
of 100 NCC cadets. During this academic year 2011
- 2012, 40 of our NCC cadets were trained awarded
B-Certificate and have entered into the next training
program of NCC C Certificate Examination and 52
NCC Cadets have been awarded with NCC C-Certificate
(06 Cadets with “A” Grade Ranking).
Apart from that, 60 cadets were enrolled in this
year in our NCC unit from the second year of B.E
/ B.Tech Degree Course. In this maiden year, our
cadets had actively participated in various NCC
activities and training program. The detailed
activities for the academic year 2011-2012 are
submitted here.
General Training Activities
of NCC Cadets:
It is mandatory for the senior division NCC Company
cadets to undergo 80 hours training in every training
year from June to March. Based on the above, the
NCC parade classes were conducted regularly on
Tuesday, Thursday between 06.30 to 08.30 Hrs and
on Saturdays between 07.30 am and 09.30 Hrs. The
cadets were provided with refreshment worth of
Rs.6.00 and Rs.20.00 for each parade of 50 minutes.
During these parade classes, the cadets were trained
in Drill, Weapon Training, Firing, Map Reading,
NCC Organization, Military History and Signals
Training etc.

On behalf of NCC, our institution extended the
full cooperation to conduct the Combined Annual
Training Camp (CATC) organized by 9(TN) Signal
Coy NCC at our campus from 18.06.2011 to 27.06.2011
and accommodated about 500 cadets including both
boys and girls from nearby schools and colleges.
In addition to the regular NCC activities, our
cadets were involved in the disciplinary committee
of our college sports day and annual day celebrations.
NCC Annual Day Celebrations
The NCC Annual Day Celebrations will be conducted
during the end of academic year and certificates,
awards will be distributed to the meritorious
NCC Cadets in the function.
