Ample Opportunities were given to the students to participate in the extra-curricular activities which shape their mind, character thereby creating an awareness of social responsibilities and technical advancements through the various Clubs and Association in the college.

Associations in the college

The NSS unit is functioning from 1985. It has volunteers from all the branches. The National Service Scheme provides an excellent opportunity to the students who desire to serve the community around the institution.NSS provides an excellent opportunity to serve the community and to develop interpersonal relationships and skills.

The Rotaract club has been functioning since 1988. The club provides an excellent opportunity for those students who desire to serve the society and to develop themselves. Blood donors club, a wing of Rotract Club is doing excellent job for the needy people.

Junior Jaycee wing has been functioning very well for the past six years. The wing conducs so many programmes for the students to develop their personal skills. The achievements of the Jaycees are peerless. It has received Outstanding chapter award in the Zone level for the past three years consecutively. Particularly it has received a National Level outstanding chapter award for the year 2002-2003.

Anna University recognized blood donors club has been functioning under Youth Red Cross club since 1998.

The Fine Arts Club caters to those students who have an aptitude for music or other fine arts. Students are encouraged to participate in inter collegiate and other competition in fine arts.

Our college chapter of Indian Society for Technical Education, a professional technical body that aims at imparting quality education to the student community, was established in the year 1988. About 150 faculty members of our college have registered themselves as life members of this society.

The ISTE students chapter was established in our college during the year 1993. The main objective of this chapter is to bringout the technical talents of the students and to give more exposure to the newly emerging technical field. The chapter is Conducting Technical Quiz, Technical debates, Technical Symposium, Paper presentation, hoe to face on interview, Model CAT exam for the benefit of students.

A unit of CSI Students Chapter is functioning in our college from 1992. It has been awarded The Best CSI Students Chapter Award for the Southern Region for two consecutive times during 1996-'97, 1997-'98.

The IEEE students chapter was started during 1991 with aim of the development of Technical skills of students. It is organising student professonal awareness camps and paper presentations every year.

It is proposed to start one unit of NCC Wing from this academic year onwards
